The Head of Technical Services & Maintenance is responsible for leading the technical operations and maintenance strategies across the group’s portfolio of 12 hotels in Belgium. The role ensures optimal operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with local regulations while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
Implement the WiZiU group-wide technical and maintenance strategy to ensure asset longevity and operational efficiency.
Implement and adapt preventive and corrective maintenance policies and protocols tailored to the needs of each property.
Lead initiatives to integrate sustainable practices and energy-saving technologies.
- Operations Management
Supervise maintenance teams at property levels and ensure consistency in standards and procedures.
Provide guidance on troubleshooting complex technical issues and coordinate external contractors when necessary.
Monitor and analyse maintenance performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation
Prepare and oversee the technical services budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Prioritize capital expenditure projects and manage timelines for renovations, refurbishments, and equipment upgrades.
- Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure all properties comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Conduct regular audits of technical operations, including fire safety, HVAC, electrical systems, and pool maintenance (when applicable).
Maintain a robust system for risk management and emergency response.
Ensures the implementation of safety correction action plans in collaboration with the Hotel GM’s.
Guides the Hotel Technical Services & Maintenance Manager (RT) in developing and maintaining the Emergency Response Manual.
- Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, train, and mentor property-based technical teams to build technical expertise and service quality.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary liaison between hotel General Managers, the corporate office, and external contractors.
Support project management for new developments, renovations, and major repairs.
Votre profil
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in technical operations, facilities management, or maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in the hospitality sector.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Experience with sustainable practices and energy-saving technologies.
- Knowledge of Belgian regulatory requirements for building and safety compliance.

Working Conditions
- Based at the corporate office with regular travel to hotel properties across Belgium.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
Profile Requirements
- Proven experience in real estate, hospitality or retail technical maintenance, sustainability, Belgian regulations, project management in a multi-property-based organisation,
- Strong network within the Belgian market, especially in technical & maintenance industry, technical suppliers, value engineering, asset management project management,
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English is a strong asset.
