Job description

The Group Technical, Safety & Works Director is a key position within WiZiU, with a scope covering 24 hotels in France and Belgium. He/she is responsible for steering the technical strategy, safety management and coordination of works within the group, in line with hotel standards and regulatory obligations.

This position requires a dual approach:

  • Strategic, with a long-term vision of technical and real estate investments.
  • Operational, with field follow-up and effective coordination of on-site interventions.

The person will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the operations, maintenance and asset management teams.

1- Operational responsibilities

Main missions

  1. Strategy and technical management

Define and implement the technical and safety strategy for the Group’s facilities.

Ensure regulatory watch and guarantee the application of current standards (fire safety, accessibility, health & safety, energy performance).

Develop a multi-year investment and maintenance plan in conjunction with General Management.

Implement a sustainable building management policy (reducing energy consumption, decarbonization, etc.).

  1. Supervision of works and investments

Pilot the renovation, extension and upgrading of facilities.

Monitor administrative authorizations, calls for tender and the smooth progress of works.

Manage works budgets and ensure optimization of investment costs.

Collaborate with architects, design offices and construction companies to ensure proper execution of projects.

  1. Maintenance and safety management

Coordinate preventive and curative maintenance, ensuring optimal operation of infrastructures.

Implement and supervise maintenance contracts with external service providers.

Guarantee compliance of technical equipment and buildings with safety and hotel operating standards.

Manage incidents and claims, in relation with insurance and the relevant authorities.

  1. Budget steering and reporting

Monitor technical expenditure and optimize management of allocated resources.

Provide regular reports on the state of the hotel estate, including maintenance, works and energy performance.

Analyze operating costs and suggest areas for improvement to maximize the profitability of real estate assets.

  1. Supervising and leading teams

Manage a technical and safety team and coordinate the work of external service providers.

Train and raise awareness of technical and regulatory issues among hotel managers and local teams.

Develop a culture of operational excellence and proactive infrastructure management

The position is based in Lille.

Your profile

Education / Professional experience

Education: Bac+5 (Engineering school, Master’s degree in technical management of assets, real estate, works).

Experience: minimum 10 years’ experience in the technical management of a hotel property portfolio, in a real estate company or property asset management company.

Key skills:

  • Expertise in building works, maintenance and safety.
  • Mastery of hotel and real estate regulations (fire, ERP, accessibility, energy).
  • Ability to manage substantial investment budgets and steer multi-site projects.
  • Excellent project management, budget analysis and reporting skills.

Languages: fluent French, professional English required.
